Dear Mr. Sterrett,

I just got finished reading your book “‘O’ God: A Dialogue on Truth and Oprah’s Spirituality,” after hearing your radio interview discussing it, and I wanted to thank you for writing the book that needed to be written to our culture.

Our culture is in desperate need of Truth, and I thank you so much for providing a tool for people like me to help bring light into the darkness. This book has given me a the more in depth information that I needed to have real conversations with many of my friends and family members who have traded in their Christian faith for the new spiritual pluralism with a Christian label on its cover.

The first time in college that my boy-friend, (now husband) saw me cry was when the honor department hosted a speaker, who claimed to offer a Jeudeo-Christian perspective on Atheism, but instead renounced Jesus and a Creator God altogether. He promoted believing in positive thinking and love. “The atheist is not the one who renounces God,” he said, “but the atheist is the one who does not believe in love.” I watched as 4,000 college students (probably 95% of whom were professed Christians) stood, whooping and cheering for the views offered by this man.

This experience was not much different from observing the millions that applaud Oprah’s guests, such as Eckhart Tolle or Rhonda Byrne. I believe that I echo your heart when I say that for the genuine believer, it is heart breaking to watch the applause of false teachers who rob people of the beauty of knowing our Savior Jesus Christ.
